How many episodes have you published?
Across my 3 podcasts…around 214 episodes.
Describe your podcast in 2 or 3 sentences
Espooky Tales is all about haunted myths, legends, and haunted places, with a focus on Latin America.
Historias Unknown is about obscure Latin American history.
Novelas Con Cafecito is a telenovela rewatch podcast.
Who is your target audience?
Latine millennials mostly, people that are part of the diaspora, who are looking for more ways to connect to the culture.
What’s the number 1 thing listeners love about your podcast?
My listeners love the way the stories are told, it’s informative but not serious. They say it’s like listening to cousins talk. Gen Z listeners say, “it’s like listening to aunts sharing stories.”
Why are you doing this podcast?
I was looking for more spooky podcasts that talked about Latine stories, after hearing a lot of the same urban legends/hauntings focused on the US and Europe and only found two.
After finishing those podcasts, I thought maybe I should produce some Latine-focused content.
Are you monetizing this podcast? If so, how?
Yes, through Patreon. I currently have almost 25 members.
What advice would you give a new podcaster?
I think, have a niche, be passionate about that niche, and don’t get hung up on the numbers in the beginning. Focus on fun and improving.
What’s your favorite podcast you listen to?
I have too many, I can’t choose one. I love And That’s Why We Drink, Relatos de la Noche, Morras Malditas, El Hilo, and TrueAnon.
