Describe your podcast in 2 or 3 sentences

Dog Works Radio is an award-winning podcast that is a delightful and surprising look at the relationship we have with our K9 Buddies.

The podcast takes the listener into the scruffy, curious, and sometimes heroic world of dogs.

Why did you start this podcast and what do you love about it?

We started in 2009 because we were tired of paying $1500 a month for Yellow Page ads.

We started a podcast in our dog training center lobby on Saturday mornings to a live audience of our clients and never looked back. We love that it is not only a passion project but is now one of our largest marketing opportunities for our business.

Who is your target audience?

Dog owners who want to create a better relationship with their dog.

What’s the number 1 thing listeners love about your podcast?

That we provide upbeat, current information about training your dog from the critical periods of puppyhood, to the development of specialized training and sports.

Are you monetizing this podcast? If so, how?

Yes, with dynamic ads and ads for our own programs

What advice would you give a new podcaster?

It may be cliche, but start with the What, then think about How, and then find your Why.

What’s your favorite podcast you listen to?

Lore

Anything else people should know about you or your podcast?

I’m excited to come down from Alaska to revisit my college town, hang out with fellow podcasters, and enjoy good food and conversation.
